Drill Battery Mod for Jetson Bolt Pro

Using drill batteries on electric bikes and erides is not anything new. The main advantage of using drill batteries is that you convert from an internal battery to 2 swappable drill batteries - which means that as long as you have more drill batteries to swap and rotate, you can ride for as long and as far as you want. Direct replacement batteries for these e-bikes are often more than $140, and if you already have drill batteries, well - it kind of feels like it's a free battery replacement. It might also give you an excuse to buy a few more batteries. I have been modifying Jetson Bolt Pros with drill batteries and often get asked about how to...

Razor Dirt Quad 36V and 48V Upgrades

So I stumbled upon the Razor Dirt Quad while searching Facebook market place for a beefier Power Wheels to fix up for my nephews and nieces. It’s a tiny little thing with rubber wheels and a steel frame… and if you sit far back enough in the seat, an adult can ride it, although uncomfortably. Even as is, it was a perfect little platform for scooting around our property for adults and the kids. So I started upgrading them last year and quickly accumulated 13 mini quads, mostly Razors. Dirt Quad 500 Boat Seat Upgrade Installation Instructions

If you have a grinder or cutoff tool, you can trim the plastics without removing the handlebars. Use a blade for cutting plastic if you have it, metal cutting blades will melt the cut plastic and it will cool off right back in the line you just cut. If you are using a jig saw you may want to completely remove the fairings by removing the handlebar along with all the screws that attach the fairings to the frame.  Remove the two screws that hold in the top controller access panel.  Remove the two screws holding the plastics to the frame above the front wheels. Remove the two screws at the foot rests. Remove the 4 small screws attaching the...

Dirt Quad 500: 48V/60V 2000W Upgrades

The Dirt Quad 500 is the "big" brother to the Razor Dirt Quad. It's bigger size makes it a fun prospect for motor and battery upgrades - there's just so much room to work with. I've had a chance to build two and experiment with different set-ups, here is my initial feedback and recommendations after a few months of running them.  My first build is a Vevor 48V 2000W Kit and the other is a little more advanced build with a Kunray 48V motor and a programmable FarDriver 72260 controller. Below is my build list as well a few pointers along the way to help you with your build and upgrade. First of all, I can't actually recommend this build...
